Manchester United with another injury boost as Erik ten Hag issues team news update ahead of Man City clash.

The confirmed squad and injury news was announced ahead of the derby between Manchester United and Manchester City.

Harry Maguire is expected to miss Manchester United's derby against Manchester City this weekend, with no players expected to return from injury. However, the two midweek questionable players are expected to be fit.

The 30-year-old missed United's win against Nottingham Forest in midweek, four days after scoring in the Premier League win over Fulham at Old Trafford. Maguire suffered a groin injury in early December that caused him to miss six games.

Bruno Fernandes and Raphael Varane, who have both struggled with problems, are expected to be available after battling for victory against Nottingham Forest in midweek. In his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon, coach Erik ten Hag provided an update on the injury situation ahead of the game.

"They fought hard to get in and did well, so I think they'll be able to play on Sunday," he told reporters. ``I don't think the players will be back, so I'll play with yesterday's team (Forest).''

When asked if this match would decide the rest of the season, Ten Hag downplayed the importance of the derby. "No, because there are still many games to play," he added. We are playing in a big game in the FA Cup. We have a lot of games left after the City game and we know we have a lot to catch up on, but there are also games where we can catch up and get into the right position.
