MIAMI (AP) — The Miami Heat's Haywood Highsmith is out after being involved in a car crash that injured others Wednesday, the team said.
The incident took place after the game between Miami and Orlando last Tuesday night. Haywood sat out Wednesday's game against San Antonio for personal reasons.
"Our thoughts are with those who were injured," the club said in a press release. Highsmith was not injured and no charges have been filed in the Miami-Dade legal system related to the crash. Law enforcement reports on incidents related to the accident were not immediately returned. Highsmith averaged 5.8 points for the Heat this season.
