Possible Ways Manchester United Could Line Up Ahead of Saturday's Clash Against Fulham After Rasmus Hojlund Injury Blow.

Just as things were starting to look up for Manchester United, an injury to their in-form striker put Erik ten Hag's job in jeopardy.

If there's one area Manchester United would have preferred to avoid injuries, it's probably in the centre-forward position. The Reds are left with only two striker options after Erik ten Hag failed to sign a striker in January. In fact, this number has been reduced to one player, excluding Anthony Martial. Given Rasmus Højland's excellent form, there was no problem until the injury recurred on Friday. United have announced that the Danish player will be sidelined for up to three weeks with a muscle problem. Options are particularly limited at this stage, but this is one possible way for United to play with the injured Hoyland.

Considering all these options, the most likely option is for Marcus Rashford to take up the centre-forward role. He's not a natural No. 9 player, but he's probably best suited to lead the line.

So it's all about how the people next to him work together. There is currently no need to replace Alejandro Garnacho, and Anthony's recall is very likely.

The Brazilian has had a tough season and is unlikely to suffer another big blow anytime soon. But Hoyland's injury gives him an opportunity and he must take advantage of it.

Take advantage of the captain's versatility

Fortunately for United, Bruno Fernandes is a versatile player who can be added to the front three if required. To include him in the current line-up, the Portuguese midfielder could play up front on the right, with Garnacho moved to the left.

If that happens, Scott McTominay could move into midfield after some good performances off the bench recently. It will be interesting to see if Ten Hag chooses this option if he has a natural winger on the bench.

There are options that Ten Hag could implement in the coming weeks. United striker Amad was retained in place of Facundo Pellistri in January to give him more first-team appearances.

Due to Hoiland's injury, the Ivorian could move to the right wing, with Garnacho on the left. Some fans may prefer this idea over bringing in Anthony, who has been given plenty of opportunities this season but has failed to impress.

The 21-year-old deserves a chance until the end of the season, but otherwise it would be a waste of time to keep him at Old Trafford.
